[ARCHIVED] Welcome James Przybylski, Parks and Recreation Director

James Przybylski

We are happy to announce that James Przybylski is our new Parks and Recreation Director!

James has worked in recreation and wellness services including adaptive fitness programs and activities for the last ten years, most recently, as the Recreation Supervisor for the Town of Manchester’s Division of Neighborhood and Families. In his current role, he is responsible for driving and supervising town initiatives, planning and delivering culturally significant events, and increasing community engagement through maximizing departmental resources and chairing town committees. He has developed and strengthened strategic partnerships with local grassroots organizations, and vendors. He is very proud of the growth of the Farmer’s Market and Community Garden Beds under his tenure. James’s department has upwards of eight grants that they actively manage such as Community Development Block Grants (CDBG). He creates and maintains the division's budget, inventories, expense reports, and vendor contracts. He is also involved in planning for future recreational assets and facility designs as part of their Plan of Conversation and Development. He has evaluated and improved departmental and staff performance measures. He is responsible for staff training including summer camp and believes his role is to grow his team members' strengths and align their interests and experiences so they are successful ensuring he elevates the work of those around him. In addition, he is the manager and lead content developer of Better Manchester Magazine online, a bi-weekly publication.

James has a Master’s in Recreation Administration and a Bachelor’s in Exercise Science. He will be receiving his Certified Parks and Recreational Professional designation this fall. He is also CPR and First Aid certified.
