Tuesday, July 5 - Tribal Team Challenge

The Tribal Team Building Challenge at Empower Leadership in South Windsor, CT includes a series of competitive “team vs team” team building challenges (on the ground) set-up in an Olympic Challenge format. Teams will compete a variety of challenges and the team that accumulates the most points, wins!

We chose for this activity for the first day of camp because we recognize the importance of team building from day one.  This event will be a great opportunity for campers and camp staff to quickly form bonds, work together, build trust and respect, all with a team goal in mind.

It's beach day at Ocean Beach in New London, CT.  Campers will enjoy a fun day at the beach -- swimming in the ocean, playing beach volleyball or soaking up the sun!!


Friday, July 8 - Slingshot Target Experience

Join us for a brand new adventure of Slingshot Target Experience at Powder Ridge Mountain Park & Resort in Middlefield, CT.  We’re very excited to offer this unique introduction into the growing sport of Slingshot target practice. Similar to archery, slingshot is a highly disciplined sport requiring concentration, patience and practice.

Campers will enjoy a 2 hour slingshot experience with the introduction to the History of Slingshot, Safety Training, Equipment, Proper Form, Sports Psychology and Supervised Range Practice with experienced classroom teacher and Marksman I in the ISCOR slingshot shooting ranking system, Andrew M. Cislo, PhD. The course will provide a solid foundation for discovering the fun and benefits of pursuing excellence in the sport of slingshot target shooting.  We'll eat lunch and then in the afternoon campers can enjoy ziplining and synthetic snow tubing down the mountain.

Monday, July 11 - Water Slides

Enjoy a fun day in the sun with water slides and swimming at Yawgoo Valley Water Park in Exeter, RI 


Tuesday, July 12 - Trampoline Park

We’ll travel to Launch Trampoline Park in Warwick, RI to bounce off the walls.  Enjoy jumping on wall to wall trampolines, launching into the foam fits, slam dunking basketballs, and challenge your friends to a game of dodgeball.  If you already have a pair of Launch Trampoline socks, you can bring them -- if not, you'll get a pair of socks.

Friday, July 15 - Go-Karts, Mini Golf, Bumper Cars & More!!

Join us as we travel to Adventureland in Narragansett, RI and enjoy the mini golf course, racing go-karts around the track, batting cages, bumper boats, bankshot basketball, and more.  Must be 56” or taller to drive your own go-kart – otherwise you’ll have to ride as a passenger with a staff member.

Monday, July 18 - Kayaking & Paddleboarding

Come enjoy a day on the water in Mystic with Adventure Mystic.  Join us for a day of paddling fun!  Kids will have the option to test out both kayaks and will get a lesson on stand up paddle boards.

Tuesday, July 19 - CT Sun Basketball Game

It's Connecticut Sun's Camp Day!!  Come cheer on the Connecticut Sun women's basketball team as they face off against New York Liberty.  Campers will get a food voucher with includes hot dog, popcorn and ether a 22 oz water or fountain soda.  Game time is 11:30 am -- so campers will enjoy an hour of lawn games or a game of dodgeball at PVMS before departing for Mohegan Sun arena.

Friday, July 22 - Storrs Adventure Park

There’s nothing like a climb at The Adventure Park in Storrs, CT!  You’ll see a series of platforms in the trees connected by cable, wood, rope and zip lines to form bridges. Each bridge presents a different challenge of how to get to the next platform. A series of bridges form “aerial trails” throughout the forest.

Week4

Monday, July 25 - Paintball

Join us for a fun day of Paintball at Warzone Paintball in Saunderstown, RI where they will provide all the necessary gear (gun, fog-resistance thermal mask, protective vest and ammo belt) and 500 paintballs.  When we arrive players collect rental gear and everyone gets a safety briefing that covers the rules and how the equipment works. Then you head over to your staging area (picnic tables) and set up for the day. Once you we ready, our assigned referee(s) will take you out to one of our 9 fields and you'll play two games. So, for instance, maybe you head over to Hill Fort and play Attack-and-Defend. First game, the Red Team attacks and the Blue Team defends. Then you switch sides (Blue attacks, Red defends) and play again. Each game may last anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes. After that we'll return to staging, reload, get air, maybe grab some water, lunch break and then you are back off to the field. We'll play between 6 and 8 games during our stay. Each game may have different rules, objectives, duration and may be played on a different part of the field.

Tuesday, July 26 - Farmington River Tubing

We'll enjoy a 2.5 mile ride down the wild and scenic Farmington River in New Hartford, CT in specially designed river tubes -- of course, everyone will be wearing life jackets.  

** Make sure to leave all unnecessary items that teens don't want to lose at home (our our case, on the bus), such as cell phones, eyeglasses, watches, jewelry, favorite hats are commonly lost during tubing!!

Friday, July 29 - Mountain Biking

Join us for Mountain Biking at Powder Ridge Mountain Park & Resort in Middlefield, CT.  Bikes and helmets are provided.


Campers will learn The ABCs of Terrain Based Mountain Biking:

Action stance - We teach students to be balanced on their bikes in an athletic, agile position allowing them to respond to terrain changes

Braking – Starting from a walk, we guide students through a progression demonstrating how to use disc brakes to control their speed.

Cornering correctly – Using small, banked turns, students learn to keep their body upright while leaning the bike into the turn.

Developing a solid foundation, we can progress from our learning area to our pump track and then onto the mountain. 

Experience the downhill trails – Students find their comfort zone and expand at a pace that works for them.  Most explore the mountain on our beginner trails their first visit. 


We'll eat lunch and then in the afternoon campers can enjoy ziplining and synthetic snow tubing down the mountain.

Monday, August 1 - Laser Tag

One Thing’s For Sure At Laser Planet Plus IN Waterbury, CT — they know how to have fun! Campers will enjoy unlimited laser tag in the largest laser tag arena in the country.  Campers will also be able to take a ride on the UFO bumper cars and try out the virtual reality rides.   


Tuesday, August 2 - Aerial Adventure

Join us as we travel to Empower Leadership in South Windsor, CT.  Find the edge of your comfort zone, then discover the courage to take one more step! The Aerial Adventure Park (AAP) experience is all about fun, exciting, and adventurous group bonding, and opportunities for individuals to discover their sense of adventure. After completing “Ground School” (equipment outfitting, safety briefing, and practice course), participants will embark on an aerial journey like no other.

The AAP is comprised of over 70 unique adventure obstacles: including climbs, traverses, and zip lines. The AAP is split into 5 unique courses of varying levels of challenge – providing the right amount of adventure for first time participants and experienced adventurers alike!

Friday, August 5 - Six Flags New England

We'll visit Six Flags New England in Agawam, MA -- New England's Most Exciting Theme Park!!  Go higher and faster. Hang out and hold on tight. Then do it again and again. Where legendary stories are born and unforgettable memories are made. If thrill rides and roller coasters are your thing -- you can enjoy Batman, Flashback, Superman, Joker and many more exciting rides!!  If you prefer to splash your day away, you can enjoy the Bonzai Pipelines, the Swiss Family Tobbaggan, or ride the waves at Hurricane Harbor. 

Please arrive for 8:15 am!!  Bus will depart PVMS at 8:30 am and return for 5:00 pm!!



Week6

Monday, August 8 - Pedal Cars

A great fun activity for all ages - ride pedal powered railbikes on the old train tracks at Rail Explorers in Portsmouth, RI.  We will be enjoying The Northern Ramble - a six mile exploration of the historic railroad between Portsmouth and the Sakonnet River. One way tour with shuttle bus. Enjoy a leisurely 6 mile expedition along the coastal railway of Aquidneck Island with views only visible from the unique perspective of the railroad. The Northern Ramble traverses private waterfront estates, 2 golf courses, coastal woodland, the Newport Preservation Society Topiary Gardens and the Audubon Society Nature Preserve.

Friday, August 12 - Brownstone Park!!

Brownstone Adventure Water Sports Park knows how to put the fun into summer!!  This is the ultimate water park – located in Portland, Connecticut!  From water inflatables and cliff jumping to zip lines and waterslides to rope swing and rock climbing, this place has it all!!  Life jackets (provided) are required to worn at all times.
